Success indicator

Dog offers paw within 2 seconds of cue.

How we teach it

  • Sit Position: Start with your dog in a sitting position in front of you.
  • Paw Presentation: Present your hand, palm up, in front of your dog's paw.
  • Encouragement: Gently touch their paw if they don't initiate contact.
  • Mark and Treat: Reward with a treat or toy immediately when they touch your hand.
  • Repeat: Practice until your dog reliably touches your hand with their paw.

Practice at home

  • Use positive reinforcement training. This means rewarding your dog with treats or praise when they do the behavior correctly.
  • Take Photos or Videos: Capturing your progress back at home or outside will help us provide additional feedback.
