How we teach it
- Sit Position: Start with your dog in a sitting position in front of you.
- Paw Presentation: Present your hand, palm up, in front of your dog's paw.
- Encouragement: Gently touch their paw if they don't initiate contact.
- Mark and Treat: Reward with a treat or toy immediately when they touch your hand.
- Repeat: Practice until your dog reliably touches your hand with their paw.
Practice at home
- Use positive reinforcement training. This means rewarding your dog with treats or praise when they do the behavior correctly.
- Take Photos or Videos: Capturing your progress back at home or outside will help us provide additional feedback.
